Terms of service

Plain terms for the LiveVault Capture browser extension. There is no account, and every tier is ₹0 under the introductory offer, so much of what would normally appear here — billing, subscriptions, data-processing agreements — has nothing to attach to yet. It will be added here before any tier is ever charged for.

1. Agreement

By installing or using the LiveVault Capture browser extension, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install it, and remove it if you already have.

2. Pre-launch status

LiveVault is pre-launch software, provided free of charge, distributed as a direct download rather than through the Chrome Web Store for now. Features may change or be removed without notice. It has not been through a third-party security audit.

3. What you're actually agreeing to

There is no account, so there is nothing to register, verify, or lose access to. Everything the extension saves is written to your own browser's local storage — see the privacy policy for exactly what that means.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use LiveVault to:

  • attempt to reverse engineer it in order to bypass its permission model or inject code into pages beyond what the extension itself does
  • redistribute a modified build under the LiveVault name in a way intended to deceive users about who built it
  • use it to capture or store content you do not have the right to save, or content that is unlawful to possess

5. Your content

You keep all rights to everything you capture. LiveVault claims no ownership over it, because LiveVault never receives a copy of it in the first place — it's written directly to your own browser's storage.

6. What is and is not guaranteed

What the extension does

  • saves what you tell it to, when you tell it to, to your browser's local storage
  • requests only the permissions listed on the Security page, and only acts on the tab you just interacted with
  • lets you export a full backup, and import one back in, at any time

What the extension does not guarantee

  • No backup by default. Uninstalling it, or clearing this browser's site data, permanently deletes your vault. Exporting a backup is your responsibility, not something done for you automatically.
  • No cross-device sync. Your vault is local to the one browser profile it was captured in.
  • No guarantee a page can always be captured. Some pages (browser-internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, some PDFs) refuse script injection entirely, and some hosts block cross-origin image fetches — both are disclosed on the Security page rather than silently failing.
  • No uptime commitment for anything, since there is no service to be up or down — but a future update could still change or remove a feature.

7. Termination

You may stop using LiveVault at any time by removing the extension from your browser, which also deletes its local data (export a backup first if you want to keep it). There is no account to terminate.

8. Liability

The extension is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or lost data, arising from use of the extension — including data lost because it was never exported before an uninstall or a browser data reset. Because the extension is free, total liability is limited to zero. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date and noted in the changelog. Continuing to use the extension after a change means you accept it.

10. Who these terms are with, and which law applies

These terms are between you and LiveVault, a bootstrapped software business founded in 2026 by Saifullah Faizan and operated from Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

They are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Kolkata, West Bengal have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory law of the country you live in.

12. The previous product

Before this extension, livevault.live promoted a different tool — expiring, tokenized links for sensitive media. That tool still runs on its own infrastructure and keeps its own terms: terms of service for the secure-link tool.
